Planning a Wedding At Home
When planning a wedding, one of the first things to do is
to choose the location. You might choose to have your wedding at a church or at
the same place where you hold the reception.
Allot of people consider
planning a wedding at home. A home wedding is generally cheaper than somewhere
else. Another reason for planning a wedding at home is that spending the most
important event in a familiar place gives it greater significance and thus it
becomes more meaningful.
There are some things that need to be
considered when the couple decides upon planning a wedding at
home.
First and foremost, those who want to have their weddings
celebrated at home have to decide if it will be an outdoor or an indoor
one.
Indoor Weddings Most homes can accommodate only a small
number of persons, so your guestlist has to be very small. Since the whole idea
for some of planning a wedding at home is to keep it a very intimate event, you
may only want family and friends who are closest to you.
You should
probably plan on moving some pieces of furniture and it may be necessary to
bring in some more chairs, which may be rented. The couple may choose to stand
in front of the fireplace or they might rent an arch. Decorations shouldn't be
a problem as they can be minimal limited to some natural flowers
only.
Outdoor Weddings If the house has a yard then it might
be the perfect place for planning a wedding at home. One advantage to the
outdoor wedding is you will probably be able to invite more guests.
An
outdoor wedding imposes another
kind of etiquette regarding the clothes for both the bride and the groom and
the guests. It can still be a fancy event but women will need to pay close
attention to the kind of shoes they wear and also to not wear skirts that the
slightest wind could raise.
When planning a wedding at home, in the
garden or in the courtyard there is also the risk of the weather not
cooperating. For this reason, you should be prepared to move the ceremony in
the house in case it rains.
